Most of this should be obvious.
This is comprised mostly of things I have handy, or similar items. I don't have that same jacket, and I don't known the king of shotguns there, don't know where that cabin is, but I know of a few places like it. Still waiting on a night vision monocular. Maybe next month.
And because of the weight of shotgun shells, I'd go ahead and bring an extra box, rather than an MP3 player or whatever.

I've found I can comfortably carry a laptop, misc. gear (in a flat pack like the laptop case) a week of clothes in a backpack and a gym bag, on my back. Cut it down to three days clothes, and if we must, lose the laptop (there will still be many functioning wifi spots if you head into the city, you just need to have a small battery-fed power source and a nearby starbucks, good for keeping tabs on other parts of the world even if you need to establish P2P connections with other known survivors) so I can carry weapons (belt, under backpack), ammo (second flat case), food (gym bag), supplies (remaining backpack space) and the communication device. If it's a two-man team, which is already planned for, the other man instead of laptop would carry a power source, preferably solar (for limited size). Considering we could salvage supplies after cleaning out the sparse households in the area we are traveling in, cookware and replenishing canned food supplies aren't that much of a challenge. Basically live nomadic, accumulating supplies (and survivors, if well-prepared) as we head for the coast and get to our boat, which we already have plans to configure into a vessel capable of holding 4-8 people for about 6 months.
True. I didn't go into detail on medical supplies and a few other things, but I do intend to get a roll-up solar panel for my laptop. But yeah, you certainly have a good hold on things. My other plan did involve a boat, but I didn't go with that one. Threw this together when I was pretty tired.
I figured that the AR would be good for holding the fort once we're there. It's a heavy rifle, so it really does require you to support it if you want to shoot accurately. It helps off of a bench, too. And this AR is pretty accurate, and ammo's pretty light for it, so there'd be a lot of zombies going down for what I can carry in .223. Plus, if I end up reloading for it after staying in place for a long time, it'll use up less powder, so I won't need quite as much of that, either.
