Tarvash is quite a handsome crocodile, and it's clear that something has caught his attention, he certainly seems quite happy about it.
There's something of a story to this piece. I got in contact with
touchofsnow shortly before Anthrocon started, seeking a badge, as well as a first commission from an artist I have always enjoyed. Alas, however, because of scheduling issues and also just the sheer logistical difficulties of working on art while at a con, there were some delays and I wound up getting the badge on Saturday. That said, I was thoroughly satisfied with the final product. It is quite a nice rendition of Tarvash and I got quite a few compliments on it from
geldazane (a true rarity),
dsc85, and
argentvz, so I am quite satisfied with the result.
Touchofsnow was a really friendly and helpful artist, and actually took time out of a planned day of suiting on Saturday to stop by and deliver my badge in the Westin Lobby, for which I am very grateful. I was also given a partial refund, which I highly appreciate and view as a sign of great courtesy and professionalism on the part of Touchofsnow.
A minor aside regarding the name on the badge (notwithstanding the wee typo), but being as this was my first Anthrocon, I didn't realize that I would be issued a badge with Orenthes on it. So, figuring most people would not know my character's name, I had Orenthes written on the badge. In any event however, now that I am aware of how Anthrocon's badges work, I'll certainly be getting a badge that displays Tarvash's actual name in the future. This one, however, will always be very dear to me as my first official badge for a convention.
