Oh boy do I have story. Hence why you bring a gun when you go out in the mountains for night photos. I even asked my husband to bring one of the guns. He said "nah, we will be in a Ranger, nothing will happen. Well it was 10pm we got up to the red rocks/gully area and got set up. We saw about 6 beef cattle with calfs. The whole time in darkness in that area I felt weird/uncomfortable .Almost like we are being the watched once we arrived. I did hear a bunch of strange noises. I asked "what the fuck is that?" We though it was the cattle. After 10 min I saw something move. I asked my husband to turn on the spot light. Just then, all the cattle stood up, looked around and then bolted out of fear. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach. I grabbed my camera, hoped in the Ranger and we floored it out of that area. Listen to your gut instinct all the time. The fact the engine from the large Ranger did not scare it, and the fact that the aggressive cattle got scared off means it was nasty. Could have been a mountain lion. My father in-law is a big game guide and that was his area he hunts. So it was very weird. Anyway, first time doing night shots. Tried to get the Milky way to show more. You can see a shooting star in the center.
