A young Dragon, the son of a famous warrior, must carry on his father's legacy by defeating an evil warlock/warlord/whatever. There is one minor flaw with him though, he refuses to part with his diapers. This may make intimidation difficult. Another problem is that he keeps stepping on these weird medals lying on the ground everywhere that some pedophiliac guy wants to trade for weapons.
Dragon Warrior 3 for Gameboy was rather notorious for me, because the strategy guide was virtually non-existant. Back then, I was obsessed with having a strategy guide for every game that even slightly interested me. Also, my backgrounds suck :P.

When my screen reader read the name of this submission, I couldn't help but make sure I sat it aside to give it a good read along with best look I could.
"Dragon Warrior" was my very first RPG. I remember plugging it into my NES and being so totally confused with the whole "Thou art hath..." along with the overall game mechanics.
I also remember how the game pretty much made it so you had to have Erdrick's Sword in order to beat the Dragon Lord. The 2nd strongest weapon would only do a whopping "1" damage with a standard hit and "2" if it was a critical.
Then there was the strategy to beat the Dragon Lord of "Attack, Cast healmore, Repeat". That was one heck of a final boss.
I'll also admit, without Nintendo Power, I'd have never found Erdrick's Armor nor that annoying pendant that is in that near endless swamp at the bottom of the map.

Dragon Warrior 3 was the first installment I played. Since I was inexperienced with RPG's, I tended to die a lot. The Only time I grinded was for money so I could buy a sword for my warrior. I really wanted to get a strategy guide for it, but they were very hard to find. If I can manage to find it hidden somewhere in my house, along with many of my GBC games, I might give it another go.
I always wanted to play "Dragon Warrior 3". I think it was the first in the franchise to have night-and-day variations. There also seemed to be a lot of things you had to do depending on the time of day.
There's also the interesting story arc you learn about through finishing the game. The only reason I know about it is due to a friend who finished it. I think it was very clever for an RPG of its time.
The "Dragon Warrior" games I finished were the first and fourth. "Dragon Warrior 4" was a lot of fun as it had five stories in it. The first four established characters with the 5th introducing the "Hero" and how (s)he unites with everyone from the previous stories. :)
