Her full name is Maxine Asarrat Hunter, but everyone calls her Max. "Mad" Max was her nickname from when she was in the US Army. She wanted to be a career soldier, and was climbing ranks in her troop in Israel, guarding the border.

When her transport truck was bombed, she was badly burned in the fire. Her right arm from the elbow down was amputated, and she lost her right eye and ear.

After being released from service, Max became a bodyguard and bouncer for a club in downtown Atlanta (her hometown). She has two cybernetic replacements for her missing arm, one for work and one for home. Both have weapons in them.

She's an extrovert by nature. She loves crowds and being surrounded by people, and she loves to party. She's a happy pessimist, always cheerful, and she loves a good fight. She does occasionally have flashbacks to the war however, and has nightmares about the explosion and the fire that took her arm.
