Certainly melodramatic but I never thought of "November Rain" as a particularly 'sad' song... always chose to focus on the thought that while it's a song about a relationship under duress, there's still an opportunity for redemption or renewal. When I was younger I had always envisioned a visual component to that song as coming across as a sort of postmodern techno-fantasy epic take on a rescue the girl story, inspired by visions of the Dark Tower or Vampire Hunter D. But the last bit never fit anywhere....

....I've never heard of it put quite like that before. Still, its an interesting perspective to say the least. Especially the "techno-fanstasy epic" part, due to the character in question being from an RPG setting sort of like that.
