American Freedom Train ticket, August 1975
For years this stub was pinned to my childhood cork board. I've edited out some 35 different pin holes made by the pins. Obviously I looked at it often as a kid. In the weeks leading up to the train's arrival we as a family attempted to see it in motion as it arrived. According to Wikipedia it was coming from Madison Wisconsin to Minneapolis. I can't find a route map so I don't know which road she rode upon to get to MN, but I'd guess CNW, Milwaukee Road or BN. If anyone knows, lemme know :D

Taken on Sept 5th 1975. I dispute the date however, this is likely Aug 30th or 31st.

It will be interesting to see what the 2076 train looks like. Will the 'daylight' even be operable? Will it even be allowed to be fired? Will super efficient Tyco Turbo Trains rule the earth and force mere humans to pull the train instead? Ahh the future, who knows where it will go.
I seem to recall in the 2000/2001 range that he tried to operate a tourist road in a remote area that had lots of local resident opposition to the whistles and increased rail traffic. I'd have to research it a bit since my brain is fuzzy on the particulars.
