This is a basic how-to about matting and framing artwork, originally created by baroncoon, smudge, and myself as a hand-out for a panel at Conifur Northwest 2002. It covers basic vocabulary, materials, methods, and pitfalls, and is recommended for any artist or collector, particularly anyone showing at an art show, festival, museum exhibit or even in a personal collection. It’s formatted for printing on both sides of a tabloid-size (11" by 17") sheet, which then can be folded in half to create a four-page letter-size (8.5" by 11") brochure.
