HAPPY BARFDAY
McScrooge
Hokay, haha ... I've been eyeing with his sona for a while now, and wanted to depict him, but never really knew how ... it was always some action pose, or super forced perspective and stuff, then I realised ... 'less is more'
So I went with simple situation; him looking peacefully at the endless range of mountains of the Alps. He's at peace, in harmony with this world.
.. or something ;w;
Billion thanks for my secret helper for all the little advices and guidance; without your help, this would have never been made. ^^
This was also a way to express my own feeling I had the time I first looked at the mountains during my visit in Switzerland. It was dark for the most of time, but as the dawn broke and the sun started to rise, a endless range of mountains emerged from the nothingness and bid welcome to the train. The dark night first got into a deep blue then pink and orange, with fog hiding the small Swiss villages beneath. It was truly amazing, something unbelievable. The time of my life.
I'M SO happy you like it, Mac ;w;

Not just an amazing piece of art which holds a tremendous vibe of tranquility and luscious details.
But you also captured the feels for the Swiss mountains that I can totally relate to, will never forget the first time I saw them from the train to Chur, love at first sight :3
Fantastic job Darb!!!!

Hahaha, you are too kind!
Exactly! For someone who hails from a country that is mostly flat, seeing the endless mountains was unbelievable ... I just couldn't take my eyes off them. Even when we were at the city centre, nature was still so close.
I wish we'll get go hiking once, or just a long walk in a forest.
Thank you ;w;

This piece is mind-blowingly stunning, you. You really outdid yourself. I can't wrap my head around how perfectly you portrayed our mountains <3 I'm also ecstatic that our little corner of Europe evoked such powerful emotions in you. And Mac himself .. well, he's flawless to say the least *fans self* ;3
As a side note, I wish I was recording his face when I showed him the picture. It was priceless. He loves it so, so much -w-

Hahahah naaaah.
I tried my best to capture the first impressions, but I've come nowhere near the actual beauty I was first, but I figure you know the feeling just as well C:
Yeah hahaha, its not fair! Almost everything good comes from there; mountains, chocolate, you two ;w;
Me too, but I think I got the right image reading his response. ^^ I honestly wish I could have given him something ... more physical, not just a bundle of 0s and 1s, but sending a print of this would have been a more of a hassle for you than a surprise; I mean, I felt so bad for bringing you all those crap now that I know framing is super expensive ;w;

I don't really know how to comment this, it truly reminds me of happy and solitary moments, sitting on a bench and watching the mountains turning red during the evening. I mean, I always watched them "from the other side" and... it's something a person should see once in his lifetime, am I right?
Oh, Alps <3
But I'm digressing, picture is absolutely stunning and oh gosh those trees in the bottom left, the shapes, the synthesis... the whole picture is so emotional yet so technically perfect. I adore it, super much (and I bet someone else is adoring it too :'D).

We don't have any mountains here in Hungary, which is pretty damn to depressing, but I also live in our capital ;w; BUT I love taking my time to walk home instead of taking the bus during winter ... stopping a bridge over the Danube and watch the city sleep, everything is calm, silent, slow, and the only thing moving are the ripples of the water and the dancing reflections on it.
Indeed ... seeing the sun rise and reveal the landscape was like I dream ... I was like ... "I'm awake? this can't be real ... or dead possibly and is this kind of afterlife? I'll never go back home" Ahahah ... I too sentimental over things like this, but I can't help it
I tired to capture the first thing I saw ... a breathtaking symphony of rock, wood and fog. I wanted depict Mac in harmony with it; a figure of respect and virtue.

Ahahah nuuuuu
Thank you ;w; This picture had so much going on behind it ...
I'm glad Mac loved it so much ... that I managed to evoke nostalgic feelings in people of their first time seeing the mountains ... maybe this is the closest I get to actual art ;w; I hope you'll get to see them in person soon <33

Hey Darb, looks like I've taken my sweet time once again with commenting and whatnot, but I just want to let you know that this is absolutely gorgeous. <3
It honestly draws you in just from a glance, between your pallette, the choice of background... everything is just so proper and so right. :) I can feel the effort put into this, really. Both scrooge and the Alps are portrayed with appropriate majesty. You can bathe anything in your warm colors and it just becomes beautiful. <3 <3 <3
It's so lovely that you can appreciate nature on such a level, and even moreso that you can portray it with similarly beautiful artwork. ;)
