Kira is a little trickster at times, but can he pull the fur over my eyes?
He even wrote a little story to go with it, enjoy~
Kurrikage woke up to the sound of whimsical, soft, and otherworldly giggling and to see that his staff had disappeared. He set off to where the local folks have identified to be a haunted forest wherein those who sleep or stop nearby the said forest are said to experience paranormal things even outside of magic like voices directly talking into one's mind, or objects floating freely as if carried off by a soft and yet blunt gust of wind. None can explain it rather well, and just pointed the direction of the place, fearing if they guided Kurrikage to the entrance of the forest, the being there might trace them back to their homes.
In all his years in this world, Kurrikage had never heard of such a place. He was very well adept with it comes to magic and with a good amount of knowledge to back it up. He simply had to go to this so called 'Haunted forest.'
Even in the middle of the night he walked off to the direction pointed out by the innkeeper. The weirdest thing was he wasn't even near it, and yet people had pointed out signs that he had been a victim.
He stopped right in front of the entrance and felt a subliminal beckoning from within. He actually didn't need any more coercion since he badly needed his staff. Without any more thought he began walking into the depths of the forest without any regard if he will return or not. He reaaaaally needed that goddamned staff back.
And again he thought about the stories the innkeeper told him whilst trailing deeper into the forest; Some people were drove insane just by going a few meters into it due to a voice that kept whispering inside their heads. Countless voices whispering different things at the same time to the point where they could not stop thinking about it. Some end up lost and find their way back out after years of wandering around it, even though the victims claim to have been lost for only a few hours. It all seemed interesting, and he was in no way an easy victim if in any danger of being drove to the edge of sanity.
A quarter hour past and he sees light just a few more paces ahead. He raced and ended up seemingly in the middle of the forest, but to his surprise it was as bright as day; Noon even. He took a few more steps into the opening but suddenly felt a huge amount of fatigue suddenly fall on his body, as if he walked for two days straight. Upon looking around he saw a trunk in the middle of the opening, almost designed to look like the center piece and seat for him, beckoning to be sat on. And so he did.
Upon sitting down he wondered if the people who first came here had experienced or reached this place.
"No, you are the first."
A voice suddenly echoed which was followed by a strong and yet soothing gust of wind. Kurrikage looked around without standing up from his seat, simply twisting his torso, turning his head around. After a while he shrugged it off and relaxed on the trunk. Although that rest was again short-lived when a hand suddenly grasped and held onto Kurrikage's side, he almost jumped at the feeling and looked straight down at his waist to see a dismembered hand clutching at his waist. "What the.." He uttered underneath his breath and soon saw a faint shadow on his other side and turned to look at it. His gaze meets a figure floating beside him, carrying a wide, toothy grin on its face with a bit of a mischievous expression on it. Another hand fades into sight and gives a seemingly friendly wave at Kurrikage.
He was dumbfounded and at the same time intrigued. So he tried to communicate with it, using the first thing that came to his mind.
"Where the heck is my goddamned staff?" He uttered but stopped after he did. Why did he say that in such an abrupt and informal manner? But before he could apologize a finger from that other hand pressed onto the tip of his muzzle and snout, as if shushing him. "Shh, I'll give it back later." It responded. It was the same voice that he first heard when he reached the center. He then calmed down since it sounded to be calm and reasonable. But why not now? What the hell did this fella wanted? "I was getting to that." It suddenly said. Kurrikage leaned back a bit from it. It was reading his mind? It definitely was. He has yet to meet a good few who carry this kind of ability. "Now~" It said and pulled that hand away, it opened its palm and summoned an orb covered in smoke. The smoke felt, for some reason, familiar, and again, otherworldly. The thing grinned even more and leaned in towards Kurrikage, which made him lean away even more with his hand on his chest in a cautious manner.
"Would you like to know more about the world you have taken a liking to?"
