Aloe is a "strong and silent" type. She was raised by Beings who knew of her Cubi heritage and did their best to keep her informed about who and what she was, and when she was old enough, she became an adventurer/mercenary like her foster father. She was eventually reunited with her birth parents, but remained with her foster parents until their deaths, inheriting their home. Aloe despises gossip and small-talk, and can come off as cold to those who try to engage her in topics that don't matter to her. If she's really annoyed, she'll over-analyze the topic at length. Her preferred occupation is to protect and defend other Cubi, and in less Cubi-friendly areas has been known to bust Cubi out of imprisonment if their only "crime" is their Cubi heritage. She is also famous in her hometown for her mixed-fruit pies, to the point where her home has been broken into at least twice (not counting an actual, unrelated, robbery). Following the death of Owona, she locked herself away to mourn and recuperate, and on returning to the outside world had a more distant air to herself, though she still continued to take mercenary assignments and bake her famous pies.

"Aloe" is a nickname based on how she couldn't pronounce her actual name, Halloway, as a child.
