Story time:
When I got back home the other day, I realized one of the windows was open just a bit to try and cool off the house. But it had let in one of those big, shiny blue wasps. I got a cup to try and take it out, but I didn't want to get close because it looked agitated at being unable to figure out the properties of window glass, so I opened the pane up a bit more and after 15 minutes or so the thing finally found its way out. I closed that window, tight this time. Later on I went back downstairs and saw, right by where the wasp was, another bug. I sighed and went to go see what it was, and amazingly enough it was a praying mantis. That one was easy to take back out, as I like them and they don't have a stinger or anything, but I'm still surprised a decently sized mantis just wandered right into the house.
