What's Altmaria?

Altamira is a kingdom on the frozen continent of Torabia. They were at first an exile nation when the magistrate of Balance choose to outlaw the use of (arcane) magic.

After many years, the nation grew, but went at odd with the major local power of those lands; the Wakfire caste.

A war was declared between the two nations and Altamira gained the right to remain there. But the result of the war made it so some of the Wakefire caste choose to flee their homeland and join the newly formed nation (Koviell and Zahardi were part of the exiles).

Altamira is also a magical university where humans (almost all the Altamirans are humans or demi-humans) can learn the arcane arts and ultimately become elite Wizards.
