I recently placed a commission to a very talented artist. As I often do while I wait, I scribbled a quickie for myself, depicting the same idea I asked for, even if I can't really draw it at all (which is why I commissionned the idea in the 1st place). Maybe I do that to help me wait for the real thing to come? I dunno.
I never post such sketches, to avoid interfering with the artist's vision (unless I need to show what I want, which is not the case here). This time though, I thought I'd share it with you guys. Although it's a crappy, quick sketch, there's something in there I kinda like. This stork got laid off for gaining too much weight and not being fit to be a delivery stork. He's holding a beer. I know, it doesn't even look like a bottle. I took less time to sketch it than to write this description. :P
The commish will be 100 times better though!

He's cute! And wuff loves the pudgy tummy! Hooray for beer-bellied storks!
Now that he's off work, Vargr can invite him over to wuff's den and REALLY stuff him silly! *giggle*
Wuff's heard that "to eat like a bird" is really a misnomer; that birds have such high metabolism that they need to practically eat their body weight every other day, or something like that. Vargr wonders if he can get this guy up to eating his body weight in a single day. *looks at the pot belly* Though, with a weight that high to start with, this could be more of a challange. *grins*
And just think, if he doesn't make it on the first day, he'll weigh that much more on the second and have an even higher goal to reach. Oh! This could be FUN! *giggles*
