Here I started making the blocks with fabrics I wanted to try together, and later came up with the theme.

The quilt is sized to fit over the window on the back door, along with several other quilts in my collection.

"Crazy" in this case was a term that arose more than 100 years ago for quilts made with irregular sized scraps instead of neat repeating squares. They were a way to show off newly acquired velvets and satins, as well as one's mastery of embroidery stitches.
