Lekamo commission with CaffeinatedKitty. Feels good to back in that "Each new piece is my new best piece" mode again.

Story:
Summer vacation begins, and Lekamo calls his friend CaffeinatedKitty to invite her on a picnic. He makes the food, drinks and packs everything needed for the short day's picnic trip into his backpack, before picking up his trusty old walking stick and heads out to pick her up. She is all dressed up and ready when he arrives, looking beautiful in her sundress and hat.

They walk through the park and up an old dirt path leading to the fields with a lake nearby, crossing over an old stone bridge. It's a warm and sunny day with a light breeze in the air as they settle down by a single tree near the lake, right in middle of the park, which makes for a perfect place to enjoy their food.

She sits down and takes in the view while he puts his walking stick down against the tree and slips off his backpack. A big, square blanket is the first to escape the confines of his pack, which he lays out under the shade of the tree, putting a few stones on the corners of it to keep it down, and they're soon enjoying a lovely meal together.

With the afternoon fading, she helps him pack their left-overs and trash back into his pack, leaving only the blanket out, even though they'd hardly need it. Being tired from the walk and the food, she takes off her hat and cuddles up with him under the tree, watching the lake and enjoying the scenery, tall grass and trees softly swaying in the breeze.

Later, they wake up to see the sun setting behind the city, perfectly punctuating the day for them both. They pull together their belongings, and he gently wraps the tablecloth around them both, cuddling her as they start walking back home.
