This week's prompt: mystery
Colin stretched and yawned loudly as he got out of bed. He stumbled over to the bathroom and brushed his teeth. It was oddly quiet. Usually one of his housemates would be up finishing their morning routine alongside him, but today he was alone. He cocked his head and strained his ears but he only heard the lightest of footsteps. Shrugging it off, he headed back to his room to get dressed.
He opened his closet only to find it was empty. He tried rubbing his eyes and pinching himself to make sure he wasn't dreaming, but his clothes were still gone. "Okay then, that's strange." He tugged open his dresser only to find nothing there as well. A quick search revealed that all of the drawers were empty save for one. Inside was a magnifying glass and a note. Follow the prints.
"Really, another prank?" he grumbled. "Hey, which of you guys took my clothes?" he shouted. There was no response but he swore he heard stifled laughter coming from down the hall. "Fine, I'll play your little game." There was a small switch on the handle of the magnifying glass. When he pressed it, the magnifying glass emitted a faint light and he saw what vaguely looked like a smudged pawprint on the ground. He tilted the glass and saw a trail of them leading out of his room. "This better not take too long."
The prints led him to a storage closet. The door was slightly ajar but it was too dark to see inside. He heard faint whispering coming from inside. "I swear, if one of you jumps out and scares me, I'm not going to be sorry when I punch you." He pushed open the door...
