It's been a while since I drew anything gothic & Today I had an urge to do so. This is what I came up with.
My inspiration for this piece came, at least in part, during the Lincoln furs trip to Nottingham on 02.07.2016.
Whilst there we went to Wollaton Hall, which was huge & ornate & I got the feeling the owner was overcompensating for something lol. The building was filled with stuffed animals from all over the world & it was absolutely fascinating. One of the first remains I came across was a selectionof skulls & the feline skulls just fascinated me. I had never seen animal skulls like them. The way they were slanted, the ridge across the top of them, the huge ass fangs. They were beautiful.
So when creating this piece I based the beast skull on that of a large cat. Specifically a panther.
I was initially going to create the beast emerging out of a cloud of shadow but I thought to add some context I should draw in a prey for it & I've wanted to draw Judy Hopps from Zootopia for a while now so who better to put in that position?
All in all this piece probably took me about four hours to complete. I think it was worth the time I invested. This is one of my better pieces. You can come up with your own backstory to this piece. Perhaps she's just having a nightmare or perhaps she's pissed off a mythical beast that is about to have lunch.
