That is the case. And for the kids
The oldest Daughter Caramel has taken over the duties around the house and younger kids with help from Vanilla. He tends to be very protective of her despite her being an adult. His son James has a very rocky and antagonistic relationship with his father. Neither get along well with each other. And Cookie, the Youngest Daughter is fairly independent, and since Tails isn't around much due to working and late nights the two aren't very close.
