One of the first Cubi born into Ambrosia's clan after her ascension, DeJax (who prefers to be known as Jack) is considered a "disappointment" to the clan because he won't blindly obey his Clan Leader's demand that he breed constantly. Instead, he is one of the few males of the clan to care about the females, and looks after them, as well as being an ally of the remainder of Clan Zezzuva. He is considered a "viable option" for a new leader if/when Ambrosia is overthrown, but is clearly not in on any of the conspiracies to replace her.
