I hate you scanner.D:< You destroyed the background's detail and this time instead of fading my colors, you enhance it crazy. Also you made it extremely grainy. I want to destroy my scanner with a sledgehammer. Nevermind ignore my ranting about my scanner.XD
This one took me a long time. I was making it super smooth. Trust me the original is very smooth, my parent said it looked like a photograph. It's for my sibling, and she made me put all my effort into this one. I hope you like it, it's my sibling's favorite character sonic.:) I may do one on jet, he's my favorite.:D Epic fail on the shoes.>.< This took me three days, nonstop.D:
Oh yeah I did use the first 3D model of sonic for sonic riders for this pic. I was doing this as an experiment too. I was curious what happens if a work of art get done in a different way. I was please with the result and amaze by the difference between the model and my own. Anyway I'm very please with it.:D

Looking at this and your other scanned pencil works, I suspect your scanner is trying to equalize the amount of color over the whole drawing, which is why it blows out the color when the background has a lot of white in it. If it's got default settings like "scan color photo" or "scan drawing" have you experimented with scanning on different settings? Or altering the color balance post-scan in Photoshop, GIMP or Irfanview? (GIMP is a free PS-like art editor; Irfanview is a simpler image editor, also free. Irfanview has sliders to adjust contrast, saturation and gamma.) Also, make sure you're scanning at a high resolution, 300 or 600 dpi. Many scanners default to 150 dpi which makes things look grainy.
