Brown hyenas are pretty cool :3
I have a tendency to flatten out everything a lot while painting and would like my art to have more form and volume. I browsed through Sharley's beautiful artwork while working on this to help me fight my habit. If you don't know her yet be sure to check out her gallery!

Lovely job! she's a cutie!
As for wanting to add some spacial-ness to your work, I can tell you something that helps me an awful lot. Try having a lighting reference open while you're painting, and refer to it often. Something like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_eqdCOIVZf.....hadow+Demo.jpg You can look at any part you're on, compare it to the reference, and see how the light should be behaving on it. I noticed a difference the very first time I tried this and it's only gotten better from there, so maybe it'll work for you just as well! ^__^ I hope this helps ya out!

It took me a moment to get what you meant by spatial, but looking at NimRoderick's comment and the gallery linked, I think I get what you mean.
As such, I wanna link you to one of my favourite tutorials that deals with this stuff. Hope it helps!

Yeah, I was thinking about form but 'spatial' was the only word that would come to mind while writing the description. I'm glad that both of you figured that out anyway. I changed it now.
That one is really good! I've known about it for years but I don't think I ever actually read through the entire thing from start to finish - except now, I just did. Thank you!
