I followed the "Dick Tracy" comic strip during the late 1960s and mid 1970s until my local newspaper dropped the strip and sort of followed the strip off and on online. Always enjoyed Dick Tracy battling it out with various bad guys with their appearance and personalities self-described by their nicknames like Flattop, Pruneface, Mumbles, and others.
I also had a 1960s Dick Tracy lunch box as a child...the glass thermos got shattered in the inside...the box rusted badly and got tossed. Pity.
Major Matt Mason did an earlier funny My Little Pony/Dick Tracy mash-up here:

that inspired me to half-jokingly come up with this gag.
For those not in the know, Sparkle Plenty was the daughter of Gravel Gertie and B.O. Plenty who were allies and friends of ace police detective Dick Tracy. Sparkle was a ukulele playing sensation as a child and grew up to be much more prettier looking than her parents. She married tempermental comic strip artist Vera Alldid (the guy in the middle) who was famous for drawing hit minimialist strips such as "Sawdust", "Bugs and Worms", and "The Invisible Tribe" (Dick Tracy creator Chester Gould's commentary on the shrinking size of newspaper comic strips, minimialist artwork, and tempermental comic strip artists) but the marriage ended in divorce. Sparkle married Dick Tracy's adopted son Junior after Junior's wife Moonmaid was killed by a bomb planted in her car meant for Dick Tracy.
