I have heard that they can give a painful nip if you piss them off, but Griff has never done so.

..I miss my 'Rex'.. not only did he eat the bugs that got into my barracks room, but he scared an NCO during a suprise inspection to peeing himself. Rex was a lot greener, and a little smaller than your behemoth though. No clue what kind he might have been other than 'picked up out of a field in missouri' :P

SO pretty, how is having a Mantis? Most I meet in the wild are a big aggressive some times.

Well compared to my birds, she's no trouble at all. :P She's very sedate, and seems to enjoy being handled. She's fluttered her wings at me on occasion if I've made a sudden movement that spooked her, but that's as far as the aggression goes.

Got mantis in my room yesterday. They're incredibly cute, in my opinion, and unlike spiders (who tend to run around and be a pain in the ass), I had no problem of catching the dude and letting him outside.
