I would have done it yesterday if it weren't for my stomach going, nah, you're not in the mood for anything art related.
Maybe a little of both, like they can walk around like a 2D piece of paper, but on the wall they have more freedom of movement.
So 2D you can only see their front and back, but on the wall they can move freely.
