More Aleksandr, everybody! He's still a gnoll and still Russian (yes, I know Odessa is part of the Ukraine currently; suffice to say geopolitics are different where he comes from). Just a few sketches I threw together last night and this evening; I moved a few around in Photoshop so they'd be slightly less crowded. I like filling a page, y'know?
The weird-looking ballet pose is mostly just to fill space. Aleksandr isn't a professional dancer himself. He owns a great deal of clothing, being a nobleman; this is hardly his only outfit, just the only one I designed on the page. Guy tends to dress like he sauntered out of a Castlevania concept piece. The odd patterns going on are supposed to be a sort of quilted velvet or damask, and his outer coat is trimmed with black fur. I haven't decided whether it's slit up the back into a pair of tails or whether there's a sleeve or similar opening for his posterior appendage, but his coat was made for him, so one way or another his tail's taken care of.
I haven't really drawn a cello before. I think I did okay thanks to using a photoref. The INVISIBLE GHOST CHAIR helps him play.
The Cyrillic, which I may have mixed the capitalization of (sorry, fluent Russian-speakers), reads "more Aleksandr!" I like Cyrillic letterforms, yes. Hairstyle blatantly ripped off from Gankutsuou, which is...well, it's got interesting art direction, at least. His fancy hat is based on one owned by Prince Felix Yusupov, one of the fellows who killed Rasputin.
Fun facts are fun!
