Back on the TFW2005 website, a user named Captain Slayer posted a bunch of fun blogs on his reactions to the original Transformers cartoon, as well as well-regarded shows like Beast Wars and TF:Animated - from the perspective of someone experiencing these things for the first time, as his introduction to Transformers was through the Michael Bay movies.
After doing all that, he started anew, and opened it up to bloggings from ever-body. I did cartoons (as quickly as possible). So here's reactions to "More Than Meets the Eye", the three-part miniseries that started off the Transformers cartoon series in 1984.

Makes sense when you put it that way, unfortunately they didn't say that in the cartoon. They just had it where it noticed the damaged robots (after a few million years, apparently) and started repairing them. Then after the Autobots woke up they started exploring their surroundings, but didn't make any mention of repairing Teletraan-1. It makes sense that it would've been damaged in the crash, I just wish they had said that in the cartoon.
Bay's first Transformers was my introduction also, which compelled me to look for the G1 series and movie, which I enjoy immensely (more the movie, admittedly). I take great personal offense at the notion that the only people who like G1 are nostalgia-blinded geewunners. It is possible not to have any childhood nostalgia for it and still like it, why is that so hard to understand? Those people are just like the nostalgic ones they hate so much.
Not just TFs, anything where new fans hate the old material and its own fans. Not that I'm defending the nostalgia-blinded people; they are, too, equally as worthy of scorn in my book. I learned this from i-mockery.com, a website whose webmaster would gladly find a way to destroy the world right before January 1, 1990, 00:00 just to prevent any other decade from happening. Both attitudes have gotten old and irritating by now, and I wish they'd both stop...
But in the end, every generation will always it's smarter than the previous one and wiser than the next. =/
