Here's a portrait picture I drew of Valencia, the trio's mother. I'd posted an earlier version on my group a few weeks ago, but I was neither happy with the scan quality nor the overall finish of the piece. I've since smoothed over her hair and added better highlights. On the downside, a lot of the detail got covered up (I drew every friggin' hair on her).
This was drawn on 80-lb paper with Prismacolor markers and colored pencils.

This particular piece is supposed to be in the "Perceptions" folio, which I'm using as a means to introduce folks to the new style I'm using. Pictures within the portfolio run the gamut from G to R, as far as content rating goes. If I recall correctly, I think the characters scheduled for that folio are Valencia, Desiree, Onika, Treska, Khetsum, Koth, Penance, Onyx, Lori, Natasha, and Crystal (from Caterwaul Inc.). I'd have to double-check the list to verify this, but I think those are all the right characters.
Hmmm, I'm intrigued. You going to be at Anthrocon? I might pick one up. I'm looking specifically for skunk tongue though, kind of like the various insane facial pics you always do. Lolled out catching all the cum, or eating all the ass, etc. Speaking of which, it seems like the girls are heavily into anal play, but they're never eating any man ass. Always suckin his dick or taking it up the ass, but never going around and giving the back door any attention. It's a very important area. Do you think this might be remedied sometime, or what?
No, there are no more conventions in my future. My last one was MFM 2007. Since the double transplant, I have to be careful about being in crowds and coming into contact with colds or viruses. A cold can keep me down for a few weeks, but a virus will land me right in the hospital. I take several immunosuppressive medications so they lower my immune system and make me a bit more susceptible to illnesses. And let's face it, everybody knows about "con crud".
As for the anal play question, I reckon you'll have to wait and see.

Not right now. I've got a backlog still, and it's taking even longer to finish them since I also do commission-type work for my regular job! Oftentimes, the last thing I feel like doing after drawing for several hours is sitting down and drawing some more. Hence, the reason it's taking me longer than I'd like to finish existing commissions...
Fair enough, man. I'll keep you on my list here, I've been wanting to get something done by you for a while so I can wait. Not even sure of the idea yet, something involving Lori, tongues, and ass licking. Hmmm.
You still planning on that Collected Skunkworks 2 book? Been trying to find #1 but I settled for the various Genus comics the stories appeared in. Student Drivers is a favorite of mine. I remember seeing a second part to that where Valencia goes in and fucks the instructor, where did that show up? The copy I have just shows the first part, in Genus 50.

The full story appeared in the Collected version. There were several stories which had to be edited down for size back when I was submitting stuff for Genus.
Yeah, I'd still like to do the second collection book. I've got to draw the entire "Team Player" folio first, though, since it's also part of a comic which will be in that book.
So much work, so little time. And people wonder why I'm only online 2-3 hours per week...

It's funny, I see the ISBN just about everywhere; college textbook sites, Amazon, bookstores, etc, but no one has it. I only got into buying the Skunkworks stuff a few months ago, so I wish I had picked up a copy before they all got sold off.
I remember seeing a Team Player cover with Val on it, what's it about? She's a cheerleader and fucks the football team, or what?
I can sympathize man, I bet it's tough. Glad to see you're still sticking with it after all these years.

It's kind of a flashback folio. It takes place back when Val was about her daughter's ages. There was always that rumor about her doing the entire football team, but no one had any proof of it. That's the benefit of a flashback sequence. It can damn you long after the fact!
thats too bad..for us. Its not like its a gathering of the most attractive and social and interesting people in the world.Still it gives artists like you a chance to meet face to fans and other artists .But one can do a lot of that online (assuming you have the time) Guess Im lucky to have got that one con sketch back around the turn of the decade at AC.
Thanks, glad you like it. As for me, I feel pretty good. Still having eye issues, but that's just due to the residual damage caused by 33 years of diabetes type 1. I was hoping the transplants would stop all that, but no such luck. But as long as I can still see, I reckon I can still draw and do everything else, so I'm cool with it.
Believe me, man, the last thing I'm looking for is "popularity". That kinda crap is only important when you're in high school, which was about 20 years ago for me. So, yeah, not a real concern for me.
As I told Doodles, I'm certainly not advertising this page. It's just a means for me to be able to check out FA links that folks sometimes send me. On the up side, I can post some of my completed art here, as well as on my group. Since I'm only online for a couple hours per week (total), I'll try to keep up with this site as well as my e-mail and group, but I can't promise a fast response. Gettin' old, y'know?

Valencia is very intriguing. We already know from part two of student drivers that she knows how to… drive. We’re really looking forward to “Team Player” for some insights to how she learned to drive, and how hard. This drawing is so fine. Such detail, that muzzle is exquisitely rendered.
A very nice picture indeed, and I mean no offense when I ask this, it's just curiosity, do you ever touch up your pictures digitally? (On the computer) Or is it all traditional means?
Sorry, I've just always been curious, I've seen a few of your drawings across the internet and I've always been impressed by the quality, it gives me something to strive for in my own artwork! Great job and keep doing what you do best!

Nope, I never use the computer to touch up any of my artwork. Aside from the watermarking, what you see in the image is what you'd see in person looking at the original. Except, you know, the scan is usually kinda crappy and low-resolution. Some colors don't seem to scan right, and the real subtle shades all but disappear when scanned.
I generally use Prismacolor markers and pencils, some chalks or paints, and black technical pens. A picture takes, on average, 30-40 hours from initial concept to completion.
Glad you like the work! Thanks!

Wow, that's impresses me more! You must have an incredibly steady hand, your pictures always look very crisp and smooth, I hope that with practice I can have that same ability someday.
I'd love to talk more about art in general but I don't want to annoy you with my curiosity, hah, but it was very great getting to hear that, I'll have to practice more on my free handing now.

Actually, my hands tend to shake a bit, but that's mostly due to side effects from the immuno-suppressant medication I take. They never have any cool side effects, like "users may suddenly find themselves with six-pack abs" or "causes long, flowing locks of hair to sprout from the scalp". No, it's always some nasty shit like "causes tremors" or "users may lose their hair" or "may cause spontaneous human combustion at inopportune times"...
Drugs tend to suck in that way, by the time you find out about all of the horrid side effects you don't want to take the medicine anymore. Though, once you decide you don't, the world begins to spin and then you realize that the company that made the drugs have you over a barrel and that the side effects may not be that bad afterall.
Still, you have to push through them and a side effect here and there isn't as bad as well... dead here and there.

With as fast as medical technoledgy has advanced in the past ten years you kind of wish they could grow organs for you, made from your own cells by now.
I actually read about some hospitals with the ability to grow new heart valves, but I don't think it's gotten as far as full organs, though it may be possible within this lifetime? I don't mean to discuss things that might be annoying for you, if you like I could change the subject.

Yep, that would be me. I don't draw the comics much anymore (the humorous ones, anyway), though I do plan on putting them all together (with new/previously unpublished material) in a huge collected graphic novel of some sort. No idea on an actual date, though, since my regular work tends to keep me pretty busy.
Glad you like the work, man!

The guy's name was Brandon (I think). More info can be found at: http://www.skunked.com/Staff/Staff_Page.htm
And there you go!
And there you go!
Nope. Brandon was Val's husband's name. It's listed in her profile info. The folks that are listed on the "Staff Page" are permanent fixtures. There's no way anyone is leaving. They're actually chained to their work stations. Help! If you can read this, get the cops! There's not much time before Valencia finds o-
I found the answer, for the female sergeants. I lent them the three Furrlough Spotlights' and Ken Singshow's books on Skunkworks, plus Val's Bust picture.
They told me that Vince... err, James is forgiven.
They even told me how lifelike and beautiful Val's picture is.
Unfortunately, Ken's book went to war. [One of sargeants was shipped out.] Ken's book was shreaded at the border. Please, if you find another one, I will be willing to pay for the price plus the shipping and handling cost.
If you are going to say, let that gal pay for it, I was a sareant, in the U.S.A.F., and you are not told half the things that you supposed to know.

I did some checking and Man, you been Busy.
The comic is the 2002 Skunkworks Reflections. That is the one that, [hopefully] help, with the medical cost.
I'll ask The Sin Factory to start reprints,of Skunkworks Reflections, to help you, with you medical cost.
For me, I was shot in the back, which led to diabetes type 2.
I know you have type 1; the more serious kind. Just try not to knock yourself out, we need you.

Ah, okay. That was the one I thought it was, but wasn't sure. I never received anything from Radio for that book (or the Collected Skunkworks or Ups & Downs, either). They stated poor sales, a leaking storage facility and high production costs were to blame for the lack of profit. In any case, it's all water under the bridge at this point.
Thanks for the offer about helping with medical costs, but I've since taken care of that. I paid over 9 grand in late 2008, and was able to pay off my outstanding medical costs. The various surgeries have been covered by insurance, since they've totalled about 700,000 dollars thus far (of course, the insurance companies are only charged a miniscule fraction of that).
I haven't had diabetes since November 2007, when I got a double transplant (pancreas and kidney). Now, instead of injections, I only have to take 14 pills a day! Sorry to hear about your situation, though. How did getting shot cause the diabetes? I've got a friend who has type 2, but isn't watching his diet like he should (altering the diet can actually get rid of type 2, provided it hasn't advanced yet).

Yea, I wasn't watching my diet, but the Doctors say, that I'm taking 12 pills myself, may caused it. The Paralyse Veterans of America is looking into the matter.
For me, it came on in about a month, but I ignored the symptoms, until Jan. 28th, this year, when it was almost, too late. I was with a nurse, when I slid out of my wheelchair and called for the nurse saying, "I fallen out of my wheelchair. I cannot get back up. Call 911."
That was it. I fell in a stupor, after which I came out of it, in ICU. It was there that I was told that my blood sugar was over 500 units.
I was released March 25th.
I bought some more posters at Second Ed Online Store. That and the Raccoon Bookshelf, I think are the best. [I had gotten addicted to the Fornax series of stories.]

There are places you can get them cheaper online. But I prefer doing my shopping at regular brick-and-mortar buildings. I'm old-fashioned that way.
Around here, one Prismacolor marker costs $4.20 plus tax. A thin colored pencil costs 75 cents, and a thick colored pencil costs $1.25. It gets expensive. I recently replenished some of my grey markers, and it cost me about 70 bucks!
Hence, the term "starving artist". Because the supplies cost so damn much...

I never heard of brick-and-mortar before. What's that?
I know nothing about buying art supplies and the smart way to buy them. I know what you mean though about how expensive supplies cost. All the items I have are old and used so I have a mixture of brands. I guess that explains the quality of my coloring. Do you have a youtube account? Just interested in seeing you work.

"Brick-and-mortar" is slang for a physical building, such as one you would actually drive to, park your car outside, and then go into the actual store.
I don't have a YouTube account. Heck, I've only got a page on FA and a Yahoo group. My website has been undergoing a massive redesign for years, but I hope to have that online very soon.

It's sort of an extension of the regular website. It's been up since September 2001, so it's been around awhile. I post more art there than I do here, in general. Every so often, the archives get cleared out and the art gets moved about. They have a limitation on the total size of all files in the group, so that has to be done in order to add newer artwork.
Here's the address. I think you have to have a Yahoo e-mail address to join, but I'm not sure.

Actually, I think she's 33 or 34. Just like 4-legged animals, the anthros I draw have short juvenile years, long adult years and short senior years. She'll look good until she's well into her 70's. And it helps that all that fur can cover up wrinkles (which she doesn't really have yet).
I know this is a really, really late comment on this piece, but I actually recall the original one you drew, detailing each individual hair of her fur. Just seeing something like that, and realizing that it was of 100% authentic traditional art style, and not digital...well, it was breathtaking beyond words.
This is the same picture, but it was scanned with a really old scanner and lost a lot of detail in the process. I remember screwing around with level settings trying to get it somewhat close to the original version.
Even the Natasha picture on the front page has every hair individually drawn. I'm a stickler for details!
