Not particularly creative but I made a Spanish version of Parov Stelar's "The Phantom" cover. Featuring poor, frightened Beowulf, cause I don't draw him enough. And btw, Parov Stelar is king of Electro Swing. I'm a big fan of his music and that partly inspired me to do this. The other reason was mild art block, pfft.
I had to resist the urge to shade since it's sorta like "pop art", but I'm disappointed in myself with the uneven coloring and the texture is so grainy it's as if I used crayons. Argh, I'm missing something here because I see other colored pencil drawings and they are nearly smooth as glass. I don't want to give up on it since it's the only method of coloring I got the hang of. Sort of... Ah well, back to the drawing board.

Yush! His sax/piano/electro mixes are in a class of their own. X)
That look wasn't deliberate [since I was going for smooth blending] but I'm happy you see it as a characteristic and not a flaw. =) I guess I shouldn't compare my coloring with others too much, though it does make me try harder.

Yeah! I actually did that here, it does help smooth things out. But in this case I think it didn't work too well because I used too much pressure on the underlying colors. Maybe, I'm not sure. I also went over everything with a regular lead pencil to add a teensy bit more smoothness, so as you can understand I was ready to move on to something else. xD
