We recently rescued this litter of 5 wee kittens from one of our local shelters. They had been surrendered, and at just ~2 weeks of age, did not have an optimistic future. That's where foster homes like ours step in! Bottle babies like these don't get the time and tlc necessary to thrive in the overcrowded shelter network, so if you have the time and a little space, consider fostering to save a life!

Heh, fun to find someone else using shelter lingo. Bottle babies are definitely the most desperate of all kittens, at that stage when illness can hit them so easily, and they require so much time and attention. Fortunately at the rescues with whom I work, there's never a shortage of fosters willing to take them if they're like this -- a kitten without a momma is always a priority around here. But that's the thing, people always want kittens. It's harder to adopt out the cats... But all lives saved are happy, so it's awesome to see another fur doing rescue ^^ Cheers to that
