As you all know I have watched a handful of animes, and the one that sparked this creation was Fairy Tail. ( It's pretty good, you should watch it if you have the time ^^)
I tried a new kind of "texturing" with the fur, and I think it came out somewhat well!

Oh, wow! You mean you made all the marks / color variations with a BRUSH and then blurred it?! THAT'S really impressive!! QnQ
The Dodge / Burn tools in Photoshop are basically brushes that either lighten or darken the shades of any colors. (In other words, the same as what you did, but with automatic color change etc.)
