Alright, here's a quiet little thing I've been doing behind the scenes for a while, now. The idea is that I'm trying to do 100 fully rendered full-body poses by the end of the year, and, in the process, I'm going to be posting all sorts of strange and wonderful things. It's not really an iron artist challenge, since those are usually one sketch per day over the course of 100 days, so I'm not calling it that. This is #30/100, with most of the previous 29 being too awful to post, and a few already posted. I'll be relabeling those and creating a folder for them in the near future :3
As for the picture in particular, it would seem that
Jayferret has gone and glomped me in an alleyway, somewhere! This isn't the first time this has happened, and I suppose I've kind of earned it, but... come on! Let me out, already...! This isn't funny!
2.5 hours, Paint tool sai + photoshop.

hey this is pretty good! and good to see you posting! Not too bad a start I'd say. The shading is kind of all over the place but that comes with time. You might want to do what I did learning and really focus on getting the lineart's good. Once you have the contour drawing down (in artist speak an outline is called a contour) the shading should come easy. Its just a matter of deciding where the light is coming from and darkening all the areas on the opposite side.
On a technical point Photoshop isn't that great for airbrush shading. I have to separate each closed zone or color into a new layer then use that layer as a mask for the shading. That way the dark layers don't go outside the lines.
Seriously keep it up. If you want any Photoshop tips you know where to find me. I'll see you on the dark side of the Moon =)

Hey, thanks! I was actually feeling kinda down about the reception this one was getting x3 To be completely honest, the only thing I used photoshop for was the text, since SAI has for some unknown reason no text feature. Everything else was SAI. It was fun, though, I had a good time with this one. Not bad for someone who drew http://imgur.com/znYQLM2 less than 60 hours of practice ago, I'd say :)
Well, I've been doing a fairly long series on characters being re-trained into thinking they're Pokemon, so something a bit like that would be interesting. Someone going around catching people in brainwashing crinkly plush Pokemon suits, perhaps?
There's also one I did where the suit swells up when you act infantile or wet it (Motherly Dragon), so there's that.
Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

For the Pokemon one, the method I used in the stories varies - anything from hypno-goggles to subliminal messaging to pre-set triggers. The way it worked in the Motherly Dragon one might be a good standardized one - every time you act in a way which fits with the role the suit assigns you (babyish, or like a Pokemon in this case) your resistance weakens.
But another one to use would be the call-and-response method, where the suit orders you to repeat certain phrases ("I am an Eevee", "I love my diapers") and punishes you with pain if you refuse while rewarding you with pleasure if you obey.
