WOW PINK PANTHER CONGRATS YOU BROKE HIM
I headcanon the Blue Aardvark and the Pink Panther to be ex-boyfriends. I’ve always considered the Blue Aardvark to be biromantic (I dunno. Whenever I look at him I can’t imagine him straight.) and demisexual (I used to imagine bisexual, but demi sounds more logical to me now because he is the only classical cartoon character I’ve seen who never got aroused by anyone in cartoons), and when I was very very small, like 4 or 5, before watching the Pink Panther cartoons, I thought the feline was a girl because he was pink. And I remember that even the first months or maybe years following the first episodes watched, I sometimes imagined him as a boy (what he is in canon) and sometimes as a girl. And because of that, I now like to imagine him either as genderfluid or bigender and either pan or polyromantic/sexual.
I used to imagine the Aardvark as using to have a weird secret crush on Pinky, but then I thought it would be even funnier if they both used to be in love with eachother years ago, but their love started to slowly fade and even became hate ; at first it was just going to become neutrality, they would just not talk or touch eachother again, but the trigger was when the Panther met the Ant Aardvark was always talking about and became friends, so proceeded to protect him from his blue bf, who took it very badly, like a betrayal, so he began to become very mean to Pinky in his words, and the 2 broke up soon after that. Remember the episode from the 1993’s show in which they got lost on an island when their boat sinked ? Why would these 2 even would go on vacations together if they hated eachother (Aardvark is still an ass to Panther, and so from the very beginning of the episode !) anyway ? I like to imagine it was an idea of the Pink Panther who wanted to save the couple, although he himself didn’t love anymore ; on the contrary, it didn’t help.
And although they’re not together anymore, I think they can sometimes still make allusions about what they used to do together in order to embarrass/make shut up/fluster the other. What cocky Panther just did.
