I know it's supposed to be serious & dramatic... But I couldn't help thinking something along the lines:

The Dad tiger was putting together a new gas grill.
Didn't follow the instructions like the Mom tiger kept telling him too, then she left somewhere.
Grill catches fire, followed by the house.
Kid is scared.
Dad is pissed cuz he knows ALL HE'S GONNA HEAR for rest of his life is "I told you so... You don't EVER LISTEN to me though..."
