Eh, the anatomy on the werewolf - a Silver Fang maybe? - is wonky, but I liked the idea. And yes, in folklore, house spirits really do live inside the stove.

Groovy! Very close to Mignola's Domovoi in Hellboy.
I just got "The Soul of Russia" by Cherry Gilchrist, very interesting insight into all kinds of Russian culture. I've barely cracked it open though, all the stuff about hospitality and superstitions is pretty crazy. My favourite idea that I read was that if your guests stayed too long, you couldn't /ask/ them to leave, but you'd cook them these little square gingerbread cakes to indicate you had literally run out of food to serve your guests, essentially "Get out of my house now kthxby" cakes. =-P

I love love loved those issues of Hellboy! With the domovoi, and Perun, and giant wolves sent by the leshii to fight off an entire undead army and... that rocked! I wish it hadn't bogged down into Hellboy beating on Kotschei the Deathless, but hey, I don't write the series...
Yay! Yeah, that kind of is always the pay off in Hellboy that he just beats the crap out of whatever it is that's in the way! x-D
"In the middle of the great ocean there is an island; on the island stands a mighty oak tree; at the foot of that tree; a chest is buried; in the chest is a hare; in the hare is a duck; in the duck is an egg, and in the egg lies my death."

Gotta keep the domovoi happy! I played one in an RPG, briefly :) I like your little guy.
He's got kind of a bachelor's pad there, though. Not like one of the big Russian peasant stoves, that the whole family could sleep on - or one of the really fancy huge porcelain jobs. That would be like a domovoi condo, I bet.
