I loved making the first series of eight ACEOs like this--I couldn't help but make more in the same style. ^u^
In the first batch there weren't many birds of prey at all--just the American Kestrel really. So I added to the list with a Northern Pygmy Owl. :D A very fierce-looking but very small owl species of North America.
Acrylic textured card, painted with a base color, with the bird portrait drawn on in soft-cored Prismacolor pencils. ^^ This is a really... just awesome way to make realistic animal drawings!
