Well then that is a relief, I was worried there for a second that it was Black Henna. Mind you I wouldn't use the pre-made stuff from the shops, they can have just as much garbage in them.
It may be a little bit more expensive and much more tedious, but have you considered making your own? My friend Maggie does it all the time with only natural and safe products. Basically the henna cones she makes come in two varieties regular and gentle.
Regular henna paste:
Henna powder Lemon juice Sugar
Essential oil blend (including, tea tree oil, ravensara, neroli, cajeput, clove, sweet orange and lavender oil)
The “gentle” henna is safe for children (over 6) and pregnant women:
Henna powder Lemon juice sugar Lavender oil
If you have any questions feel free to ask her. Maggie's email can be found at her website www.mehandibymaggie.com
Currently I am uploading the photos I took of her work which were taken at several of the festivals in town and at the lectures.
By the way the design looks great!
