a conservative and fairly short chapter, but it says what needs to be said and maintaines interest.

Well, part of that comes from the style of this series. When I wrote the original Something Blue I decided that there would be no scene breaks. Every change of scene would also be a new chapter, (though the reverse isn't always true). This has the side effect that some important scenes end up being small chapters.

Sometimes the trick part is coming up with chapter titles. I use a lot of songs and lyrics for them, almost enough to make it a theme, but not quiet.

In the original story, and as this has progressed, I was interested in why Slippy is so hardhearted about the situation--the psychology behind that. But a growing curiosity has been how Falco seems so... comfortable. Even flirtatious. Freud might have a field day!

There is a good reason for why Slippy is acting the way he is. I needed someone to be a bit negative, and I really couldn't think of anything to do with the character. He does get to explain some of his motives later in the story.

As for Falco, well, Falco is Falco. There's some explanation about his feelings later on. Lets just say, the big bird switch hits...

Three paragraphs into the story and seeing Falco make a pass at his old , now female teammate... pretty much says something.

Now. This was a bit of a shorter chapter, but a nice little go between. It's showing the preparations for the job, the layout, and the interactions with the person they're taking the job from. Not much to say on this one, yet it's still something that I'm going to have to say it worth reading. Mainly as this it given that smooth opening to the next chapter, which should be the job itself.


And I can respect that~
