I like Grape

It bugs me I want to just ignore Grape and give Peanut a hug....

I'm supposed to be a cat person, cat I say...

Hmmm.. thse are starting to look better. I really think the more cartoony faces like this work better for the feel of the comic.

maybe it's just me but, in the left picture, peanut's ears look a lot closer to the eyes than in the left picture.

Okay, this is PERFECT. The trick with the slope on Grape's eyes makes them look cat-like, while still keeping them consistent with the other cartoony eyes in the strip. Peanut is adorable.

And the whole "Grape looks too masculine/not masculine enough/whatever"... PFFFFT. Grape looks like a CAT. Peanut looks like a DOG. One of the earliest and best gags in the strip was that cats and dogs have some trouble telling each other's genders apart. And goodness knows, humans do. I don't think we should be able to tell "boys" and "girls" apart just at a glance.

Grape sorta looks a bit too masculine for some reason, but it's a good progression. I think it fits Peanut the best.

What happened with the teeth that you where thinking of having on Grape. I thought that was interesting. Also the side profile of Grape looks like her eyes are flat with no distinct roundness to them.

They're still there, I just decided not to give her snaggleteeth and only show them shen her mouth was open (which is like 90% of the time anyway)

OK, I was just wondering. I look forward to the new design as over all they are very nice.

oh i love the new look! Definetly more cat like, sometimes its hard telling the dogs and cats apart unless you look at the ears

Hmm Peanut looks alot cuter =3 but I kinda thought since now everyone knows and it's established Grape is female, I half expected her redesign would be more female-ish yet tomboyish ...keep up the great work regardless

Love the look for both of them. Hight, muzzles, and collar size all works really well.

Have you tried different expressions with the cat style eyes? In both concepts Grape has looked kind of intense and focused - Can you still get a full range of expressions with those eyes?

It's not going to be hard. I'll probably do an expressions page to convince people.

okay i said i needed to see grape in this style on the actual houspet site for today's (march 11th) comic -didn't know you had an FA at the time- and now that i see her drawn like this i'm sold stick with this style rick! it fits houspets best
