Your linework has really cleaned up in the past few sketches! Have you found it significantly more time-consuming than your old line style, or is it pretty straightforward?

The new eyes continue to look pretty expressive.

It is actually pretty time consuming. But the results are so much better, so I'm going to stick with it.

I feel like I'm still having trouble with eye placement.

When in doubt, eyes go halfway down the face, with enough space for another eye between them (this can be more or less depending on eye size, 'course).

Heh. True enough! If the character is facing to our left, the eye on our right will need to be closer to the bridge of the nose than you'd think it should be; big-eyed Medic's are pretty good, for instance, but smug Medic and sad Medic have the eye on our right sort of drifting away.

Eyes are bastards to place, so considering you don't have screwed-up chameleon people you're already ahead of the game.

thats what i did - found something i liked - drew it untill i could draw it by heart - then kept drawing it untill it changed into something i personally found to look good

I have an idea. Keep at it until you got the hang of it, then make it even harder by changing the view angles.
Being consistant in style and proportion is even harder when breaking the eye-level perspective.

Well, to be honest, I really was stagnating on my art.

I took it as kind of a wake-up call.

I draw more than just tasteless anime and furry art, but I post my animu online. I prefer to draw it as recreation.

I realize that not everyone likes it, which is fine. But they're extremely picky. :shrug:

Well, I like anime and all, but I need to kind of need to expand a bit.

I'm experimenting around with stuff, and I'm getting positive feedback, so, who knows? This could go somewhere.

Expanding is always good. I'm learning how to draw people--as in portraits with a model in front of me and such. It's tedious, but it's paying off. :']

I've been looking through your gallery and you've improved a lot from what I've seen so far. I love watching people go from Point A to Point B. It's inspirational.

Mmm-hmm. I know what you mean. There's something just so alluring about drawing a model regardless. You should try it sometime. It's actually very good practice, and you learn a lot.

I need to find some more people to model me.

Some colleges offer figure drawing classes with nude models. They tend to focus on all-over anatomy and technique.

If all else fails, go to a public place and people watch. You can do quick gesture drawings of random civilians, and an occasional quick portrait. Or, get friends/family/co-workers to sit still for a while.

Or, if that doesn't work, there are always anatomy books and random photos in the Internet.

I've done life drawings of live nude models, I just feel like I could use someone to model for me just for poses for my own personal drawings.

Well, good models are few and far between. Good luck on finding one.
