Zootopia 2: The Natural Order - Chapter 4 (original idea)
Judy, Nick, Gideon and Bonnie came walking up to the Hopps house, and Nick was already looking around for Finnick. "Finnick? Hey Finnick! You gotta try this carrot juice!" Judy and the others looked around for Finnick too. Nick confusedly scoffed and placed his hands on his hips. "Where is that elephant lovin' fox at?"
They heard a faint gaggle of laughter coming from behind the house. Gideon leaned his head to the right to get a slight view of the side of the house. "My best guess is he's out back playin' with the others."
They all began to make their way to the back of the house as Judy walked next to Nick. "You're still not gonna let that go are you?" She asked with a half smile.
"What," said Nick sarcastically, "When you play the role of an elephant loving little kid for as long as he has, it tends to stick with you. Even long after you dropped the charade."
Judy responded sarcastically but with a playful smile on her face. "Or maybe you just love to mess with him since you know full well he doesn't actually love all things elephant the way he pretended to."
Nick chuckled softly. "You can read me like a book Carrots."
When they all reached the back yard, they could see Finnick playing with twenty-two of Judy's younger siblings, who ranged from five to nine years old. They were all running around laughing and shouting tossing different balls around to each other. One young boy rabbit raised up both his arms and flailed them around excitedly. "Mister Finnick! Mister Finnick I'm open!" Another boy rabbit gently pushed him to the side. "No no tore it to me, throw it to me!"
Finnick held his arm back with a dark blue round ball in his hand. "Both of yah go long!" Striking a friendly competitive grin he gave the ball a good long toss and both rabbit boys ran after it.
Finnick, chuckling from the fun he was having, looked over and saw Nick, Judy and the others. "Yo Nick! Judy! Come on over here and have some fun!" Nick stood dumbfounded while Judy smiled at really sight of her young brothers and sisters having so much fun with her friend.
"I didn't know Finnick was so good with kids." She looked up at Nick. "Why didn't you tell me?"
Nick replied with a sarcastic and slightly embarrassed tone while still dumbfounded. "Beeecause I didn't know either."
The scene cuts to everyone sitting at a picnic table while all of the rabbit kids played in the distance. Finnick was gulping down a bottle of the Hopps carrot juice they brought for him. He let out a big gasp of breath and wiped his lips clean. "Now THAT is some pretty good juice." He looked over to Bonnie sitting across from him. "Mind if I sell this at my pawpsicle shop and give you half of the earnings?"
"A generous offer," said Bonnie politely, "But I'm afraid we're going to have to pass on it."
Finnick shrugged. "Aight. Your loss." He began to gulp down the rest of the juice in the bottle as Nick decided to playfully tease him.
"And by 'pawpsicle shop', you mean that falling apart old yoga studio in Sahara Square that no one's been inside for a few years now?"
Finnick gave Nick an annoyed expression as his set the empty bottle down. "It's called a work in progress. And I've been inside it okay...once. Just you wait. It's gonna be a hit once it's put back together and remodeled."
Nick playfully rubbed the top of Finnick's head. "And I'll be there to help you every step of the way."
Finnick gently batted Nick's hand away. "You do that again...and I really WILL bite your face off!"
Nick held his hands up defensibly while keeping an amused grin. "Okay, okay. No need to get hostile." Everyone but Nick and Finnick chuckled politely. Just then, Stu came from around the right side of the house holding a handful of mail.
"Hey gang. I'm back delivering today's produce." All the rabbit kids turned and ran towards Stu. "Whoa-ho there, careful kids." All of them were so excited to see their dad that they were all talking at once. Stu tried to calm them down but to no avail.
Judy, Nick, Finnick and Gideon couldn't help but laugh at what was happening in front of them. Bonnie just smiled and rolled her eyes as she placed her thumb and index finger in her mouth and let out a loud whistle. All the kids simultaneously stopped and turned around to face their mother. "Sorry mom," they all said at once as they dispersed and continued to play. Stu sat down next to Bonnie and started to comb through the mail.
"Is that today's mail dad?"
"Yup," said Stu, seems to be more here then yesterday. At least I think so. It does seem heavier." He stopped once he flipped a magazine over to reveal a large orange envelope. "Oh," said Stu surprisingly, "Looks like you and Nick got something here Jude." Judy and Nick both expressed looks of suspicion. "Says here it came straight from Zootopia, and look." Stu flipped the envelope around. "It says 'Most Urgent'." Stu handed the envelope to Nick and Judy moved in closer to him to see what was inside.
Nick unfolded the letter inside and he and Judy began to read it. Their expressions soon went from suspicious to disappointment. "Well," asked Gideon concernedly, "What does it say?"
Nick and Judy both let out a calming sigh. Nick then set the letter down on the table. "Seems we're being called back to the ZPD early."
Gideon, Bonnie, Stu and Finnick all shockingly said; "What?!"
"But you two have only been here two days," said Bonnie worriedly, "You both still have five days of vacation left." Judy held up her hands.
"Mom, mom...I'm sure City Hall and the mayor have their reasons. They wouldn't have called us both back if it wasn't for something very important."
Stu placed his hand on Bonnie's shoulder and looked at her with a calming smile. "Judy does have a point Bon. She and Nick are the hero cops of the greatest city on Earth after all. Whatever it is must be pretty serious to ask them to come back." Stu grabbed the empty envelope. "Plus it's been shipped by Felidae Express. They really wanted it to get here as soon as possible."
Bonnie looked to Judy and Nick. She could tell by the looks on their faces that they didn't want to leave either. But knowing her daughter, Judy was definitely going to go back to Zootopia to see what it is that's so urgent that they needed her and Nick for, and that Nick wasn't going to let her do it alone. Taking in a deep breath and then letting it out gently, Bonnie placed her hand on top of Stu's that he still had on her shoulder. "Well," she said sporting a supportive smile, "Duty calls right? And what kind of mother would I be if I told my daughter not to do what she loves?"
Everyone happily smiled at Bonnie's words. It made Judy even happier, because her parents now show her true support for her career choice.
The scene then cuts to Judy climbing into the back doors of Finnick's van, of which Finnick himself is already in the driver's seat and Nick in the passenger seat, both looking to the back as Judy said her goodbyes. All of her younger siblings were upset the they were leaving, but they all stayed strong regardless, so that they wouldn't make them feel as upset as they were. "Don't worry you guys. As soon as we get whatever it is they want us to do done we'll be back."
Bonnie crossed her arms and seem mildly irritated. "You tell them that as soon as you're both done you're coming straight back here for those last five days."
"And when you do," said Gideon, "I'll treat y'all to some of my new cheery pies, on the house."
"As well as some freshly made carrot juice too," said Stu gripping his suspenders, "I'll even show you how we make it."
"That sounds great," said Finnick excitedly, "I can't wait."
Nick once again playfully teased him. "Just try not to make off with the recipe for their carrot juice." Finnick gave an annoyed look.
"Ignore them," said Judy, "We'll be back to help out with the crops and have some more fun before you know it." She jumped down from the back of the van and gave her parents a hug. "This is just a 'see you soon' hug, not an 'I'll miss you guys' hug. Okay?"
"We'll hold you to it." Bonnie gave Judy a kiss a the cheek. "Take care."
"Will do," said Judy as she climbed back into the van, "We'll tell you all about it when we get back." She waved goodbye and her parents, Gideon and her young siblings all waved goodbye back to her. Within moments they were on the road, on their way back to Zootopia.
They heard a faint gaggle of laughter coming from behind the house. Gideon leaned his head to the right to get a slight view of the side of the house. "My best guess is he's out back playin' with the others."
