Here I am, courtesy of my instructor, holding up the Adirondack Backpack [basket]
that I slaved for 14 hours over, last weekend.
Last June, the same instructor showed me how to make the hat I am wearing,
which took me 7 hours to weave by hand. Dedicated to my art, no?

No, but I can send you the instructions for making your OWN hat. That hat cost me $80 to make, and I had to sleep overnight on Saltspring Island before I could take the course. It's made from rushes that grow in ponds, lakes, and ditches. The course was for making women's sun hats, and I refused, because I wanted to make a top hat. So mom made the sun hat, and I made this. Everybody loves it.
Pretty much any of the arts, if you're not into it, or if your art is different than another person's art, chances are, you won't get it and won't be willing to comprehend why the other person does it. Like music, food, and most other aspects of the human condition, art is personal. I can't explain some of the things I have done, but for me, they make sense and resonnate. Photography is a compulsion, so I don't take it lightly.
If I did, the BC Liberals would come along and confiscate the snake, because you know, they slither around and hiss, which is scary, and some American once died from looking at a snake.. 35 years ago, in bucktooth, Alabama, so, you know.. all pet snakes should be prohibited and their owners should have rotten fruit thrown at them.
Whereas I still have some residual interest in the curvacious gender, my debaucherous proclivities would generally prevent pregnancies from happening, so you would have to ban my interests and hunt me down as your fugitive. Pending incarceration, I will have already corrupted dozens of verile minds, defying your liturgical proclamation.
