Little Pride by Jazzlioness
The two had traveled far that day in hopes to find water, but instead, they found a small cub, abandoned and all matted with mud by a small watering hole. If they hadn't heard her cries, the poor cub would have died. Bahati and Vitani looked near and far for the cub's mother, but to their surprise, she was no where to be found, and no scent was found around the cub at all.
----
Bahati and Vitani went to go lie down in the grass; it wasn't home, but it felt good on their fur for once.
Vitani placed the small ball of fluff by her mate, and Bahati nudged the cub closer to her body.
"I don't know who would do such a thing, but I'm glad we could save her." Bahati's eyes looked hopeful. Vitani smiled back.
"No worries now, sweetheart; you're safe with us." Bahati leaned down, and started cleaning the dried mud out of her fur.
The baby started to purr, and slowly, she began to close her eyes to fall into a deep slumber.
The two lionesses looked at each other proudly, and rested their heads close to one another, and fell asleep to the sound of the crickets chirping their sweet melody.
I absolutely adore this piece - and look at the tiny little Tamu!! =^.^=.
jazzlioness once again blew me away with this heartwarming and utterly adorable little piece!
