Based off a picture that was taken of me and Stripes at MFF 2007. Traditionally, any con badge made for Meddle Bear must bear a reference to a Pink Floyd album cover or song title. Since I couldn't decide upon an album cover, I went through my mind to come up with the most fitting song title from the theme of the photograph, and San Tropez (from the Meddle album) was by far the most fitting, so I went with it and let my imagination take over. Then I figured that since Stripes was in the photo too, it was only right to make him an identical one.
Since this photo was the mirrored version of Stripes' badge, I had to fix the number on his jersey since the 3 was now backwards, so I selected a box around the number 3 and reversed it back, tilted it a bit so that it fit with the position of his jersey, then blended around the edges to make it fit back into place. I was about to call it a day after all that, but then I took a closer look at the jersey and realized that I had to put a number 1 in there now, because in the original photograph, the number 1 was obstructed from view because of the angle, and being a hockey fan, I couldn't leave it as it stood. Matts Sundin's jersey number is #13, not #3. So, I took a 1 from a separate picture of Sundin's jersey, pasted it next to the 3 on Stripes' jersey, then matched up the colors so that it looked even, rotated the number a little to match the position of the 3, then blended around the edges so that it fit with the background of Stripes' sleeve. It was a bit of work to make it happen, but the labor of love in digital imagery and doing something nice for a really great tiger kept me going.
