She's adorable. I love her facial expression most of all. Her outfit looks so feminine and comfortable.
The background is what really pulls me into this. The colors are soft overall, but still strong enough that they keep your eye searching inwards for further details.
The purple and blue hues are very calming and I also love the glowing sprites. The lighting that they cast upon the character is perfectly done.
In other words: DAMN! 8D

ok, I have to ask ^w^. When you did the background were you given free reign to design it however you saw fit,
or was it actually apart of what the commissioner originally had in mind?
p.s. sorry if I seem a little too curious, it's just that most people don't normally mention these types of things in their descriptions and it's that kind of creativity that really blows my mind ^^.

He had free reign to do what he wanted. The background is entirely his doing. When I request a commission, I try to give only what I want to get out of the picture (unless asked for more input). I find that it's far better to give the artist and idea and let them run with it than it is to attempt to describe every last detail and constrain an artist to a work that they potentially no longer want to do. The end result is usually much better and, in this case, the end result was brilliant.
