Well, I imagine that the person/people in the car isn't going to get to tell their side of the story, so they're just gonna have to go with whatever version of events the cat tells.
"Officer, I was just minding my own business when this crazy driver lost control of their car and drove it right down my throat! I was a helpless victim!"

I wouldn't, but that's mostly because I don't like stretching. I'll swallow the car if I'm big enough that it won't hurt me any...and that I'm not stealing or vandalizing someone else's possessions in the process.
