**SPECIAL REPTILE 20TH ANNIVERSARY ARTWORK**
Brace yourself, guys: Devon, the cruel and powerful Reptilian general has come back to life!
After Devon died in battle against Reptile, his body was cast into a river but never found.
Now, seven years later, a very powerful dark mage used unholy magic and spells to fill Devon's corpse with life again! Unfortunately, this creature needed a lot of fresh bodies to consume... so it killed an entire village to regain strength, flesh and power.
And unfortunately for the mage, Devon proved to be of stronger will and force. Shortly after his resurrection, Devon regained control over his own body and mind and escaped from the dark mage's castle.
Devon is a 'Wiedergänger'. In a sense he's not a real 'undead creature' because he's still in control of his own mind and personality.
Driven by hate and the lust to kill he roams the land to consume life wherever he can find it.
And eventually, he'll search for his old nemesis who killed him seven years ago: REPTILE!
A new age has begun... this is the dawn of the undead!

I'm curious to know, did you use any particular references for the pose?

UGGHHH!! Why didn't I do the art trade with you when I had a chance?? If only I had a character at that time unlike now. My character(s) and all of your's are SO similar and related. A fantasy world where non-human characters are the main characters over human ones *or equal to them*...
Makes me want to do a crossover animation/comic-story...maybe you be interested? I animate too >:X

I've used a pose from an old comic book. There was a super villain which was crouching like that.
Well, in my world the Reptilians are NOT the main characters and they don't consider themselves to be "above" the humans. Right now, humans and Reptilians fight alongside and live in peace - more or less.
It's cool that I could inspire you again! ^^
You're free to do whatever you like, hehehe. Though, I won't have the time to participate that much... nope.

The inking was one of the things that I enjoyed on this pic, but with the final results it gives an awesome result for the occasion : D
- The coloring you choose here, mostly cold colors like blue and green and contrasting it with heat colors like brown and orange. Pretty good!
- The pose in general, as I mentioned, gives a strong feeling of power and hatred, which is perfect for what he wanna do next, to settle things with Reptile as you said.
- The idea of glowing these injured instead of blood gives us a narrative that somehow this death being has been reanimated or resurrected with some sort of power.
- A little observation that could´ve been good to express more a wild expression would be adding some spilled saliva on the tingle, tooths and a bit in the muzzle. Just a little suggestion ; )
As for the story. I would´ve like to see how this dark mage looks like, but so intriguing to see that he wanted to revive him and to take him under control, the question is why? Until Devon takes control of his own and escaped too.
I have a question, is this glowing thing is how he looks before or after regaining control of himself? just wondering because if this is how he is when he was underthe mage´s spell, it would´ve been a good idea adding blood of the victims he attacked to regain strenght. Sure, it would´ve been kinda agressive and violent, but effecte ; )

It brings me back these old pics I saw of Devon like his solo pic with the arms crossed, the pic in his throne with the dragoness, the torture scene with Reptile, that picof these two which you printed on a shirt (which I would´ve love having one XD) And for last, but not less important, your comic! : D Ir surely brings me back some good memories, and I´m looking forward to see what are you planning to do with him : 3

2) Devon is a really cold son of a b****! He's cruel and ice cold!
The only light here is the green light... unholy, undead glow..... ^^
I've chosen this pose because it shows him like... well... if he just crawled out of his tomb (though that isn't true). Just like a typical, classic "undead rising"!
Ehm, nope! Saliva would mean that he's a living, breathing creature again... BUT HE IS NOT! So, I added no saliva.
I even thought of adding glow into his mouth... XD

This glow is now a part of him because he's made of unholy, dark magic. His wounds will heal but if you slice him up now, there will be glowing wounds... no blood. Never!
And his eyes will always glow this way... in the end, the eyes will be the only thing glowing... except if you cut him, like I said. When Devon consumes another being, it will melt into green goo and energy and THEN being consumed... I might draw a scene of this... eehh...... horrific!!!

I found a cool twist to the end of Devon... Xaide or Syrana (depending on who is still alive and willing to help) know Devon's real Reptilian name... which is needed to make the final spell possible.
I love the concept of "the true name" stuff and it might come in handy.
