This is a classic warcry of a unit from StarCraft- the Protoss zealot. The Protoss are exceptionally high-tech aliens and I suppose that has brought up the association with your pic ;)

Another one where the amount of detail in those scaffolds and things is just crazy... love those ring things as well.

My brain, really. It makes things up from bits and bobs, usually scifi novels and other concept paintings. I am completely obsessed with depicting unknown, unkowable places and futures. I want to draw the audience in and alienate them at the same time.

You certainly achieve that goal. The detail is so intricate and immersive, but at the same time you can't get much farther beyond the painting--it gives the viewer both a sense of excitement and a sense of disappointment.

Yes, I think that's exactly what most scifi does - it's fascinating in its detail and structure yet impossible to truly relate to or appreciate on an emotional level. I think that's fair..

I like how it looks abandoned. Everything's still on, but the city looks dead. <3 Also, it's neat how you incorporated the ring structure from your other painting here, it's like seeing different parts of the same planet. I'm like a gibbering fanboy~ x3
