Yep now im talking about religion! yay =w= hehe i like talking about religion
The common belief among sogalun dragons about the world they grow up on, and eventually die on, is that it is made up of two entities known as the Two True Elders known as Soga the world snail and Aulun the sky wyrm.
Soga the world snail is a planetary snail that slowly slides across the stars of the universe forever. Soga's body is that of sea water and a shell that is all of the land of the world. Soga has three eyes, the first of which is not only on fire, but also has a mouth (weird) and this eye is the most important as it's the eye that breaths light and heat onto the world. This eye and mouth however must rest periodically as it runs out of breath and has to blink. The other two eyes are only open when the first eye is closed and they watch with a dimmer glow to make sure the shell doesn't fall off while the first eye is asleep.
Aulun the sky wyrm is a giant snake that follows Soga as a companion across the universe forever. Aulun is a long winding serpentine being made of air, Aulun's body stretches around Soga, forming the clouds that sogalun's look up and see every day. Aulun is also the being that makes the sky blue and the weather come. Also most importantly is the one that keeps the True Elder's Maw (the mountain range) frozen and cold. Aulun only has one eye, making it not quite as good at seeing as Soga, but it has a breath so strong it can blow down forests (and it has). Aulun sleeps erratically, sometimes being awake for long stretches of time or sleeping for many days.
Upon a sogalun dragon's death, they must climb the True Elder's Maw with all the other dead spirits around them to meet Soga and Aulun, they may then talk and ask questions to the two true elders before being blown back to the planet below as a spirit that will influence the world. These spirits are of their own free will, they can help living sogaluns or hurt them it's all their call. After 1000 years of being a spirit they are reincarnated as one of any creature of the world.
For being an established belief, there isn't much in the way of worship or anything that sogalun dragons do, they don't have any religious buildings or ceremonies or anything like that. The common thing to do is to accept that Soga and Aulun will continue as they always have and to focus on one's own life and happiness.
There is no idea of sin, heaven, hell, angels or demons here. Just two beings on an eternal journey to nowhere.
So that's the basic idea of the religion and it's afterlife for now anyone interested can expect an info dump and some more drawings and such about it soon!
Venny out!
