This is my fancharacter for Naruto, a cute little nekoshito (catperson) named Akano Ryouku. He's, um... well, 15 at the start of the series, about 5'7", got an "emo" haircut but isn't particularly emo, a psychic...

It'll take me a while to explain the history of the species of nekoshito, but I'll point out some major features:
- They can transform at will from human to cat form: the majority are kittens, more powerful are cats, and the most powerful assume the form of a great cat.
- As humans, they display ears and a tail. Some, like Akano, have ears placed slightly lower on the head that other nekoshito. Their hair color reflects their fur color in some way -- in Akano's case, he is a white kitten with a red star on his forehead.
- Nekoshito are all born with a "Chosen," a person just for them who is the only one they'll ever love. This person can be male or female (Akano's is male, but one of my other nekoshito, Enishi-Warabi, has a female Chosen).
- Nekoshito spend much of their lives wandering the world in search of their Chosen, and thus often wear hand-sewn clothing. This is why Akano's clothing seems out of place.
- Some nekoshito are also nekoyasha, or cat demons, which often emerge when the nekoshito feels extreme rage or despair. Some more trained nekoshito have learned to utilize their nekoyasha powers at will.

There's a bit more to be said about the nekoshito, but... no one really cares. :/
